More neighborly help, participation, and safety
Commu’s community platform helps strengthen mental resilience in a municipality. Commu acts as a shared platform for the municipality, residents, and third-sector and preparedness actors before, during, and after a crisis. Commu also offers community support to people arriving in an area — for example, in an evacuation situation.
Network-based cooperation strengthens resilience already in normal times and helps ease the burden on authorities during a crisis, once the roles, processes, and resources of the various actors have been clarified. This way, residents can take part safely.
By developing participation, community spirit, and mental resilience, a municipality builds residents’ trust, hope, and sense of belonging.

Commu app for residents
Commu is a free mobile app for residents. A resident can ask for or offer neighborly help, join a community clean-up day, or take part in the municipality’s or local associations’ volunteer activities. Remote help is also possible, regardless of location!
In Commu, a user can see the municipality’s free resident benefits and take part in the municipality’s wellbeing work and surveys.

“In our municipality, we want to strengthen everyday community spirit, and Commu offers a functional, approachable platform for that. Loneliness affects more and more people. We also have a lot of new residents moving in who don’t yet have their own network.
Through Commu, people can find meaningful things to do, reduce loneliness, and strengthen their everyday sense of safety, with a low threshold to get started.
Working with Commu, we want to build a community where everyone can feel like they belong and take part in creating a good everyday life together with others.”
Marjut Hietaniemi, Welfare Coordinator

“Our city is happy to join forces with Commu to promote community life and everyday neighborly help! We, too, have recognized a growing longing for community, alongside a rise in experiences of loneliness and the need for help. As a city and as residents, we can respond to this with Commu’s help.
Commu’s potential as a community app knows no age limit — people can offer and receive help for all kinds of everyday needs, or even for an association’s volunteer work day.”
Asta Paasi, Welfare Leader
